CHANDIGARH: Doing their bit for underprivileged girls gives meaning to the lives of these classical dance and music exponents.
Rita Gangahar, a resident of Sector 19 who has made her name in the field of classical music, said, "I teach the art to needy young girls. It gives me much satisfaction as I help them realize their dreams of being a good singer."
Discovering their hidden talent and motivating them to hone their skills keep Samira Koser, a Kathak dancer, going.
"I am teaching Kathak to 10 unprivileged girls. I started learning Kathak when I was 8 years old. And today, I want to share my art with them," said the resident of Sector 15.
Punjabi singer Dolly Guleria has been teaching singing since 2004. "I have over 50 students. And they give me the best 'dakshina' which is their love and success," said the resident of Sector 12, Panchkula.
